Sunday post #13

Sunday is when I sit back with a lovely cup of tea and write about all the wonderful new books I've received and purchased in the past week. This post participates in fab memes Showcase Sunday and Stacking the Shelves.

Chasing Hope by Kathryn Cushman (competition win)
Finding It by Cora Carmack (review copy)
Hurt by Tabitha Suzuma (unexpected book post FTW!)
Take a Look at Me Now by Miranda Dickinson (review copy)
The Killing Woods by Lucy Christopher (review copy)
The Memory of Midnight by Pamela Hartshorne (review copy)

I'm thrilled with my copies of Take a Look at Me Now (stunning cover by the way), which is a title I've been looking forward to for ages, and Hurt, as I read the haunting and poignant Forbidden by the same author years ago and I'm STILL thinking about it.

The Memory of Midnight and Finding It were unsolicited review copies and unfortunately I don't think I'll be reading the latter. I've not read the first two novels in the series and it's also a genre that I personally don't care for. The Memory of Midnight looks intriguing though, so when time allows I will try to pick it up.

This will be my last Sunday post for a while as I'll be on holiday in Scotland with limited Internet access from Friday onwards so will be posting less to my blog (if at all!) while I'm away. Hope you all have a few fab bookish weeks!

    1. Thanks Megan, I'm hoping we won't have rain during the entire trip because the weather predictions don't look too nice... *fingers crossed*

And yes the shiny version of Take a Look at Me Now is GORGEOUS! *strokes the cover*

  4. I loved Forbidden and have just ordered Hurt. I've only been blogging for just over a month and I really wanted to review Forbidden on it as it's a favourite of mine. After writing the review I immediately went to my bookshelf, picked up Forbidden and started reading it again. I even put down my current read, How I Live Now, to do it & I never do that!

Great book haul, I also got myself The Killing Woods this week. Hoping it's good. Enjoy your reads. My STS

    1. I completely understand what you mean! I read Forbidden a few years ago but felt the same as you, it's haunting and emotional but definitely one of those books you want to read again and again. Hope you enjoy Hurt as well :)

    1. Forbidden is an amazing book! It's very emotional though, but it's definitely one that will spark discussion and makes you think about it long after turning the final page. I hope you get a chance to read it :)
