Sunday is when I sit back with a lovely cup of tea and write about all the wonderful new books I've received and purchased in the past week. This post participates in fab memes Showcase Sunday and Stacking the Shelves.
I wasn't home last Sunday to make this post, so the books listed below are the ones I have received in the last two weeks ^_^
• Review books: About a Girl by Lindsey Kelk, Brooklyn Girls: Pia by Gemma Burgess, The Trader of Saigon by Lucy Cruickshanks.
• Competition wins: Revenge Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger, This is How it Ends by Kathleen MacMahon.
I've already finished About a Girl which I absolutely adored (review up soon), Lindsey's books are so much fun! And I'm currently reading Revenge wears Prada (which I'm very much enjoying - I love reading about these characters again after so many years) and Brooklyn Girls (which is unfortunately very disappointing so far, but since I've read great things about this novel on other blogs I'm hoping it will pick up).
Have you guys read any of the books showcased above yet? If so, did you enjoy them?
Ooooh I love your books this week! I agree with About A Girl - it's great (and I got in the back n the questions section, highlight of my entire life!!)
ReplyDeleteI got Brooklyn Girls this week but haven't started it yet. Oh no :( Hope it picks up for you!
Have a lovely Sunday :)

My Showcase Sunday if you'd like a look :)
I saw you being mentioned in the back of the book, I'm simultaneously happy for you and also a little bit envious of you!
DeleteI seem to be in the minority with my Brooklyn Girls opinion, so enjoy!
I should really read Devil Wears Prada series, I enjoyed the movie a lot and I need more fun books in my future as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
My haul
I read The Devil Wears Prada quite a while ago so don't remember much about it (though I love the film!) but the sequel is very good so far and I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteThis is the second place I've seen Brooklyn Girls now. :D
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books.

I've seen the cover everywhere for the past few weeks now so I was really excited when it arrived in my mailbox too, but so far it's a bit disappointing unfortunately.
DeleteThanks for stopping by :)
I've got Revenge Wears Prada...I can't really remember a whole bunch about the first book but I'm sure I'll pick it up when the mood takes me :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't remember much about the first book either (I have seen the film again quite recently, though it's slightly different), but that didn't matter as this one is set 10 years after the first book and neatly introduces all the new and old characters :)
DeleteI'm really looking forward to reading About A Girl. I really like the author! Happy Reading :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! When you pick up About a Girl I guarantee you you won't be disappointed, it's a super fun read :)
DeleteNice haul. Brooklyn Girls is new to me and looks interesting. I see that you have no Bloglovin button. I like to follow that way since GFC is disappearing on Monday. Come visit me as well.

If you pick up Brooklyn Girls I hope you enjoy it more than I do now ;)
DeleteThanks so much for the info about GFC, I've just added a Bloglovin to the sidebar of my blog (and saw I already had people following me that way too - I had no idea!).
Cool haul. Happy reading :)

Thanks for following, I only just added the bloglovin' because of a recommendation of the poster above you :)
DeleteOh no... I was really looking forward to Brooklyn Girls :( Hope the rest isn't that disappointing!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to read Revenge Wears Prada too!
I seem to have a minority opinion as Brooklyn Girls has received a lot of praise so far, so I hope you will enjoy it as well :)
DeleteI honestly haven't heard about most of these but I can see that they're chick-lit which is not my thing. The Trader of Saigon sounds really good though. Great haul! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by :)
I go through phases that I read more of a certain genre and after general YA and dystopian, at the moment it's indeed women's lit ^_^
DeleteGreat haul! :) I've heard good things about Brooklyn Girls so I really need to read it. Thank for stopping by mu blog. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteIf you do end up reading Brooklyn Girls I hope you'll enjoy it more than I am (for now)! :)
DeleteI don't think I've heard of any of these, but I'm definitely checking out About a Girl, and The Trader of Saigon sounds really interesting. I hope you enjoy the books!
